Ep. 284 – Track Your Fitness

Train Your Brain Podcast logo

Welcome to the Train Your Brain Podcast with your host Dr. Michael Trayford. His 284th brain training tip is to track your fitness. Fitness trackers such as Fitbit can be great for those with memory decline or those who need to improve their health. However, it is one more thing to be checking and to become distracted by. Fitness trackers are great to help us remember and be aware of how active we are, though, by counting our steps. They help people to hit their fitness goals and they give us good reminders to be doing something like active like taking the stairs or parking further away. Consider finding a simple way to track your activity. Thanks for listening!

We can observe things like balance, gait and sit to stand testing to tell how physically fit an individual is. We have long since established that being physically fit helps you to have a better brain. Increased mobility and increased fitness lead to increased cognitive function.
